What is Financial Planning and Analysis?

Think of traditional analysis as the "back engine" diagnostic: the MRI you keep in the back office for when you need deep forecasting and modeling. While that mathematical precision is a requirement, it is the front-office "x-ray" and conversation that actually facilitates the decision-making process. Financial planning and analysis answers the question "what is possible?" The conversation answers the question "what do you actually want?" You need both, but clients live in the second one.
