Welcome back to Asset-Map Product Updates.
A monthly series highlighting the latest innovations we’re releasing on our platform. I'm Lex Brooks, Director of Brand + Product Marketing, here to guide you through.
This month, we have a few smaller updates, including adjusting Drafts mode to include all members so that changes are more easily visible to the current user. We'll also be revisiting a big launch from last year: Target-Map Comparisons. And we'll be teasing yet another new feature - Priorities - helping you to align on goals and key conversation points with your clients.
Let's dive in.
First up, we want to revisit a feature gem: Target-Map Comparisons. A key benefit of Target-Maps is the ability to run multiple scenarios and the Comparison feature was developed to aid in the conversations about those scenarios with the ability to quickly compare and contrast different scenarios side by side - similar to how you can compare similar products during an online shopping experience.
This functionality can be launched from within a single Target-Map using the “Compare” icon, then either clone that one to create a similar Target-Map with adjusted variables, or add an existing Target-Map, or create a new one from the compare view. Alternatively, you can also launch comparisons from the existing list of Target-Maps on the summary page. A maximum of 3 Target-Maps can be seen on screen at once.
You can use Comparisons in 3 different ways - the first is to show options for a specific goal, e.g. showing a baseline retirement goal along with options illustrating saving more or delaying the retirement age to identify which option would represent the "target" the client would want to work towards.
A second use is to show trade-offs, such as when a client may have multiple goals competing for the same resources, and to discuss prioritization.
The third way is to use Comparisons is to show what-ifs, such as a baseline Retirement, another path that may show the impact of a major event like funding long-term care, and a third path that shows how to address that event, such as through funding a long-term care insurance contract.
We've also enhanced the user experience for Drafts to make it clearer to navigate when changes have been made - so now ALL members will be automatically selected when opening Drafts. This is beneficial so that when your clients make Suggestions via the Client Portal or a delegate in your practice is putting together a Draft, the advisor will be able to see the full extent of changes right away when opening the Draft. Likewise, when a client logs into the Client Portal, the Asset-Map Report will also default to all members of the household being selected on the Member Selection Bar. If no changes have been made between uses, then Drafts can continue to be accessed through the navigation toolbar or by right clicking on the Asset-Map Report to open Drafts Mode.
And finally - another product teaser!
It's been quite the year for new releases as we've made significant investments into our conversational financial planning capabilities. This has included launching and enhancing visual and list views for various conversations, enhancing target-maps, launching relationship maps, and so much more in the details too. Through it all we've enhanced the platforms ability to help facilitate conversations around the who, what, when, if and how of the client's life, through Relationship Maps, the Asset-Map Report, Target-Maps, Signals and Drafts. We will soon be adding the missing link: WHY.
The why comes in the form of our new Priorities feature launching soon - enabling advisors and clients to identify their goals, align on what they will be working on together, and to prioritize them with the financial guidance they need. The extra benefit of this feature is that it will connect to Discovery, so any Priorities identified by the prospect or client before the meeting can be further discussed and refined in the meeting itself. Clients will also be able to brainstorm additional Priorities, the advisor will be able to easily surface additional goals or concerns for the client, and together they can align on the scope of their work going forward. Lots more details to come soon, so be sure to check back here next month for all the juicy info.
