Product Spotlight: Add Notes to Asset-Maps

By Don Tinney, Product Manager

Here at Asset-Map, we’re always looking for new ways to innovate.

Sometimes, the innovations that advisors need to enhance their productivity the most require a look at more old-school methods for inspiration.

Case in point: Advisors love printing and marking up their Asset-Maps. We hear all the time about how our advisors grab a pen, then draw and sketch all over an Asset-Map during a meeting with their clients.

But then the meeting is over, and those notes have to be transcribed from off the page into their digital record-keeping system.

While we’re all for the analog process, many of our advisors have requested wanted the ability to stay digital and manage their notes that way. So that’s exactly what we built.

The All-New Notes Report

This new report is available right now to all subscribers. It makes it simple for advisors to view all notes entered in a Household from a single page in the app, as well as the ability to generate a PDF version of all those details.

Now when you take notes during a meeting, you can type them right into Asset-Map. They’ll be saved in all the right places so you can associate them with the right investments on a client’s map.

You can view, print, and even share a consolidated list of all your Member and Financial-related notes on a per-household basis for maximum collaboration.

Where to Find it:

Within Asset-Map, navigate to Reports > Notes to access these new features.

Enhanced note-taking features aren’t the only new update we’re excited about, though.

Format Text via WYSIWYG Editor

What’s a WYSIWYG editor, you might ask? It’s more simple than its acronym suggests.

WYSIWYG = What You See Is What You Get

You can now quickly and easily format text for disclaimers, disclosures and notes with an editor that shows you exactly how your report will display the text, as you’re editing. No need to hassle with different functions to edit and then preview your changes.

Here are the supported formatting options:

  • Bold/emphasis

  • Italics

  • Underline

  • Strikethrough

  • Hyperlink

We hope that last bullet caught your eye because it’s one we can’t wait to see you use.

Adding hyperlinks can be an especially useful tool for notes because it will allow you to add links on Member and Financial records.

Link to pertinent related websites, online documents, images, and anything else that you can store online.

The WYSIWYG editor is available now.
